You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great. That's what being a spacefaring civilization is all about.

We can have a trillion humans living in the solar system. That means we'd have a thousand Mozarts and a thousand Einsteins. That's the future I want for my grandchildren.

Space is the only way to save Earth. We need to move heavy industry off-planet and turn Earth into a residential zone.

I don't want to live on Mars. I want to live on Earth. But I want the option of visiting a million-person colony on Mars.

The hard part isn't getting to space. The hard part is making it routine and affordable enough that it actually changes civilization.
