Locus built the AI that decides how to route 100,000 deliveries per day across a country — used by Unilever, Nestle, and dozens of large FMCG companies. Nishith Rastogi left Amazon machine learning to build better delivery planning algorithms than the 30-year-old software most logistics companies still run on. Tiger Global invested. It works.

Nishith Rastogi was a machine learning engineer at Amazon who noticed that logistics planning was still done using 30-year-old algorithms or even manual planning in many industries. He and Geet Garg built Locus as an enterprise-grade route optimization engine — not a GPS navigation app, but a decision-automation platform that takes thousands of orders, dozens of vehicles, and hundreds of delivery constraints and produces an optimal plan.
Early customers were Indian FMCG distributors for companies like Unilever and Procter & Gamble. Then US and European enterprise customers followed.
WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO
Locus sells AI-powered logistics automation software to enterprises. It does route optimization at massive scale — planning hundreds of thousands of delivery stops per day across complex multi-depot networks.
Revenue comes from SaaS contracts priced on delivery volume processed, typically with large FMCG companies, retail chains, and 3PL operators.
THE PRODUCTS
Locus Dispatch Management Platform (route optimization, delivery planning), Locus Track (real-time fleet visibility), Locus Returns Management, Locus Analytics
HOW THEY GREW
Locus expanded geographically to the US and Europe while growing its Indian enterprise base. Key enterprise wins (Unilever, Nestle, healthcare distributors) became reference customers that unlocked similar deals.
The platform expanded from routing into broader supply chain decisions: inventory placement, fleet sizing, and carrier selection automation.
THE HARD PART
Locus competes with established logistics software companies (Manhattan Associates, JDA/Blue Yonder) that have decades of enterprise relationships, and with in-house teams at large logistics companies that build their own optimization. Winning against legacy vendors requires proving measurably better outcomes (lower cost per delivery, higher on-time rates), which requires long proof-of-concept periods.
