I grew up in a small town in Michigan. I watched kids from wealthy families get internships through connections while everyone else got nothing. Handshake exists to fix that.

Career fairs are broken. A student walks into a gym with 200 booths and somehow that is supposed to be an efficient talent marketplace. We can do better.

Your zip code should not determine your career. The best talent is everywhere. The opportunity is not. That is what we are changing.

We are the only platform where a first-generation college student at a state school can get discovered by the same employers that recruit at the Ivy League.

Democratizing access to opportunity is not charity. It is good business. Companies that only recruit from 20 schools are leaving 95 percent of the talent pool on the table.
