HiBob is the HR platform for companies that think BambooHR is too basic and Workday is too enterprise. Built in Tel Aviv, valued at $2.45 billion, and used by mid-market companies that actually care about employee experience. Their platform is modern, colorful, and designed for a generation of workers who expect their HR tools to look as good as their consumer apps. It’s HR software that doesn’t make you want to gouge your eyes out. In HR tech, that’s revolutionary.

Ronni Zehavi was an experienced Israeli entrepreneur who’d built and sold multiple tech companies. He saw that mid-market companies — 100 to 3,000 employees — were stuck between SMB tools (too basic) and enterprise platforms (too complex and expensive).
He founded HiBob in 2015 in Tel Aviv with the idea of building an HR platform that was powerful enough for mid-market needs but designed with the user experience of a consumer app. The name "Bob" is deliberate — it’s supposed to feel friendly and approachable, not enterprise and intimidating.
WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO
SaaS subscription with per-employee pricing. HiBob targets the mid-market — companies with 100 to 3,000 employees.
The platform covers core HR, onboarding, time management, performance, compensation, and analytics.
Pricing is tiered based on modules and company size. The self-serve model with optional implementation support keeps customer acquisition costs reasonable.
THE PRODUCTS
Bob — the core HR platform. Covers employee data, org charts, time and attendance, onboarding, and document management.
Performance management with customizable review cycles. Compensation management and benchmarking.
People analytics and workforce planning dashboards. Payroll hub integrating with local payroll providers.
HOW THEY GREW
HiBob grew through product differentiation — being the most modern, best-designed HR platform for mid-market companies. Strong presence at HR conferences and heavy investment in content marketing.
International expansion from Israel to the UK, Europe, US, and Australia.
THE HARD PART
The mid-market is contested from above (Workday moving downmarket) and below (BambooHR moving upmarket). HiBob needs to maintain its design edge and feature velocity to stay differentiated.
The $2.45 billion valuation requires continued rapid growth.
