We raised $1.3 billion and built one of the most powerful AI models in the world. Then I left to run Microsoft AI. People called it a failure. I call it a $650 million acqui-hire that changed the industry.

Microsoft has Teams and Planner bundled free with Office. Google has Workspace. We charge $10 a seat and somehow keep winning. Because good enough for free still isn't good enough.

I have four words for you: I. Love. This. Company.

My children — in many dimensions they're as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I've got my kids brainwashed: You don't use Google, and you don't use an iPod.

Microsoft buying us for $7.5 billion scared the community. We proved it was the right move by staying developer-first.

Our perspective was that lost in this negativity around what was going on in PC's and the disruptions that were coming from mobile and cloud, is that Microsoft was much more than just a Windows or PC's company.

I've been really happy with the progress the company's made.
