I've been building oracle networks since 2014. Most crypto people discovered the oracle problem in 2020. We had a seven-year head start because we focused on the hard stuff while everyone else chased tokens.

We solved the most boring-sounding problem in crypto and it turned out to be the most important one. Plumbing isn't exciting. But nothing works without plumbing.

I wear the same plaid shirt to every conference. People make fun of it. But I'd rather be known for building reliable infrastructure than for my wardrobe.

India has the developers. India has the users. India has the problems that blockchain can solve. Polygon was built in India, and I'm proud of that — we proved that world-class crypto infrastructure can come from anywhere.

I tell my team: we're not building a company. We're building the infrastructure for a new economic system. The timescale isn't quarters — it's decades. Act accordingly.

Our first app hit #1 in the App Store. Our second company powers trillions in blockchain transactions. Joe and I have a pattern: build things people didn't know they needed.

We spent two years in stealth. No blog posts, no conference talks, no Twitter threads. Just building. In crypto, that's basically being invisible. But when we launched, we had real customers and real revenue — not just a whitepaper and a token.

I never wanted to be famous. I just wanted to build great things.

I build in public. That means I fail in public. Crypto Twitter has no forgiveness for failure.

I prefer building companies to investing in them. The best returns come from creating something yourself.

I am an engineer. I build things. The fact that what I build now is made of capital instead of concrete does not change how I think about it.

I started Mindbody in San Luis Obispo because that's where I lived. Everyone said I needed to be in Silicon Valley. Twenty years later, we're still in SLO.

We didn't die after FTX. We shipped code. That's all that matters in the end.

The engineer who builds the bridge matters more than the architect who draws it.

We don't build for speculators. We build for institutions that need reliable infrastructure.

If you are going to build, build something the world has never seen. Otherwise, why bother?
