You must gain control over your money or the lack of it will forever control you.

We own our trucks. We own our warehouses. We employ our own drivers. Everyone told us to use third-party logistics. We said no. Control the experience or don't bother.

A billion users chose Instagram. Zuckerberg chose what Instagram would become. Those are different choices.

I take my private company public? Never. I'd rather run my business without Wall Street telling me what to do.

I promote my own fights. I negotiate my own deals. Nobody takes a percentage of Floyd Mayweather but Floyd Mayweather.

Control the entire value chain. If you depend on someone else for your raw materials, you are vulnerable.

I don't believe in a general manager system. I want to make the final decisions.

Founders should never give up control of their companies. That's my biggest regret.

If you make the best product and control where it is sold, nobody can beat you.

Buy enough shares to matter. A two percent stake means you get a thank-you note. A twenty percent stake means you get a board seat.

We kept the debt low because we wanted to stay in control. The moment your lenders control your timelines, you start cutting corners.

Going public would mean answering to people who do not understand what we are building. That is not a trade I want to make.
